Background:
Series wiki and Character wiki

Personality:
Sometimes it takes just one event to make a person awake to see what the universe is really like. Just one event can make their minds snap as they realize that they might have been wrong all this time. This is what happened to Raul Creed in this series.

Before the series, he was a man who was calm, the ideal citizen. He had his emotions in check and there wasn't a person out there who could deny that he was well suited to his position. He had his family but was more often found at work since he had a very important job to do. This all changed the day that he saw the Proxy chasing Vincent in the mall, the day his wife and new child were killed and Pino ran away. On this day his eyes opened and he began to see things differently.

He slowly begins to find things amusing and is more easily frustrated when matters don't go his way. Things he was blind to are clearer now and he hates that he can't do anything about them. And in his mind it all comes back down to one thing: Vincent Law. This is the man who holds the key to everything but he cannot seem to capture him. However, there is more to his personality than his obsession so this will be covered later on.

He is a man who tends to have control over his emotions. In most situations, he can keep control of himself and it makes him very suited to his job since he is in charge of security over the citizens of the city. It provides him with rational responses to situations so he can respond to them accordingly. For much of the time, his life has been about his work, fulfilling his duties. It even appears that he spends little time at home because he is often found working instead. His role is to see to it that the city is protected, that impurities are removed so that there is only peace to be found within the walls.

Now, this is not to say that he didn't care for his family at all. In fact, it could be reasoned out that over time, he developed some affection for them. In the series, he does show some signs of being impacted by the loss of his family even if it is only brief. This brief amount of frustration leads us to believe that even though it's possible that he only had a family out of duty, he had grown to care for them on some level. However, he's not as attached to them as most would be when thinking of family and he returns to his job and his obsession rather quickly.

With this said, he does seem to be more capable of finding humor in situations, even going so far as to joke about things such as when he joked that he was infected with the virus causing autoreivs to become self aware. Others might not enjoy his humor but the fact is that he is finding situations amusing now where he would have otherwise been too focused on duty previously. This is something that Kristeva points out, that he's become more emotional about things than he was before and this extends to the fact that he becomes angry more easily too. Enough so that he actually punched a wall when he was denied the information he wanted to proceed on something. And all of this comes circling back to his obsession.

There is no better way to describe how Raul acts when it comes to Vincent. He is a man who is obsessed with all aspects of this one man because he knows that he is the key to unlocking everything. The one the Proxy chased, the key to finding out more about the Proxies, the one there when his world was destroyed and rebuilt. There is something about the Proxies that the government doesn't want the people knowing and even Raul doesn't have the clearance to find out more about them. This frustrates him and drives him ever onward to learn more and to find out why this one man would be the thing that unlocks all the mysteries.

This is something that he cannot openly display though since it would mean he likely would be removed from his position. Some part of him knows that he has to be careful so he hides his findings from Kristeva when she comes into the room. It suggests that he knows there is something wrong and that he has to keep it hidden. Yet, he says things now in an open fashion to challenge the powers above, just to see what they will do. He has come to recognize that there are flaws in the government, in everything that he has ever known to be true. Suddenly there are things that he has to question and this disturbs him because he's finding that he's not supposed to question anything. This isn't something he ever noticed before because he never saw it before.

Vincent Law has really changed Raul's entire existence and some part of him likely recognizes this. Despite the fact that he should let things go, he continues to dig and try to find out more. His gut tells him that where the man might be is where he needs to be. His instincts are good too because when it seems that the man has returned to the city, he moves to go and see for himself. Though he knows there is a possibility that the other might not be there, he still has to go. Really it's like his world has come to be wrapped around this one individual and he really cannot say why. He probably knows it too but Raul still needs to know what is being kept from him.

More than that, this one person keeps slipping through his fingers. This bothers him since he wants to hold onto him and has always had such firm control over everything. Now this one last thing that is stable keeps slipping away and it angers him. Perhaps it's not so healthy to become so obsessed but when one thinks about it, he truly has nothing else as far as his mind is concerned. His family is gone and that was the only thing outside of his job that he actually had. In a peaceful world, what else is there to occupy the mind of a man like him.

Thus far it would appear that a part of him is aware of the fact that he is becoming obsessed because he allows himself to keep as calm as possible. He still does other work with the Vincent Law case being primarily in the shadows. But the thing about obsession is that it's not so easily let go and this goes so deep that it's now a part of who he is as a person. This one individual has awakened something inside of Raul that cannot go back to sleep. What that will mean for him as a person has yet to be seen because this is only the beginning of his condition and there are more episodes in the series for him to encounter one day.

Why is your character a good fit for the setting of Soul Campaign, and what will they do once they are in the game?
Raul will fit in nicely because he is a capable fighter who will find the power behind dragging him to this place interesting. He might even see what it would take to overthrow it, investigate it deeper. He's a neutral party here, waiting to see what he should do before actually doing it. It will make for some potentially interesting plots.

List the abilities your character will still have in Soul Campaign: Raul has no supernatural abilities in his own world.

List the weaknesses your character will gain (or lose) in Soul Campaign:
Raul's greatest weakness is his obsession with Vincent Law. However, this is something that is already canon so I think the addition of being distracted by his affection for Pino would a decent enough weakness, particularly if there was one around for him to interact with. It would conflict his mind (since he doesn't remember it until the end of the series in canon) and be a distraction in many cases when he would otherwise wish to do something.

[ MEISTER ]

Soul Description:
Calm, cool, determined, observant, obsessed, wanting

This soul is a dark blue and has Raul's hair, a smoothed back look on top with some wavy curls around wear the neck would be. It tends to be quite calm but has a hint of a smile at all times as if it knows something or is just waiting for something to happen.

Ability:
1. Soul Focus
2. Soul Summon
3. Soul Trump

[ SAMPLES ]

First-Person
[There is a video of a man who is smiling pleasantly at the screen. He's settled in nicely here and is enjoying himself apparently. That or something has come to his attention that has provided some sort of amusement. It's not clear just by looking at him.]

I have been here a few days but I believe it is time that I found employment to keep myself busy. I am not so used to being idle, work always having been something to occupy my time. It will be unfortunate to have to work from the bottom again but I suppose that I can make due.

[He sits back in the chair that he's in and continues with the current topic at hand. After all, this is quite essential to him.]

Where I am from, I am the Director-General of the Security of Citizens Bureau. Naturally this was a position of some importance and I don't expect to be given such a thing here. With that said, if there is an opportunity to do something similar here, I would be interested in pursuing that roll.

And, before I forget, my name is Raul Creed and I must thank you for your consideration in advance.

Third-Person
The report that Re-L Mayer had died was the last thing he could recall seeing. It had been a telling thing for him since it meant so much to Daedalus. Honestly, it meant so little to Raul but when it impacted another he was sure to pay attention to it. Right away, he began to monitor him, to see how he would react to things because he had wanted to know how removing a reason to exist from a person's life would impact them. He had been set to watch this man's world crumble around him when he found darkness around him instead.

It took a little time before Raul's eyes managed to adjust to the shadows and he found himself irritated by the windowless room. What trick was this? Pulling him away from his work and his investigation of Vincent Law. Had he been found out? Had he not been careful enough? No, he knew that he was meticulous about such things and that he'd been keeping an eye on how much Kristeva saw as well. It couldn't be that someone had discovered him and he needed to reconsider this situation in a more rational manner. Doing otherwise would lead him towards punching something again and if anyone but Kristeva saw that... No, he couldn't allow for that to happen when emotions were meant to be kept in check.

Fists tight all the same, he took another look around the room, noting the statues. Was that caution tape? It wasn't so easy to tell in this minimal light but it seemed like that could be the case. Frowning at the fact, the took in more of the destruction, mind drifting to the destruction that had been caused in the mall that day Vincent Law had been running from the Proxy. An unpleasant memory but one that made his heart beat faster just thinking about it. Sadly, he doubted this could have been caused by a Proxy since he'd been forced to stay away from such things recently. It would be too easy for this to have been what he wanted.

There the flicker and static of something and he turned to look at what looked to be a screen. Old fashioned but possibly a television. How...ancient. Decidedly unimpressed, he listened to the words from the figure on the screen all the same. Information was vital currently and he lacked any. It was surprising that this face was one he didn't know of but he would have to deal with that fact later when he had more time to consider things. What was said though, that displeased him. This was a location he'd never heard of and he was in the middle of some sort of war he was expected to fight in. How vile to pull someone who no longer was a part of such things into these matters. Unfortunately, it didn't appear that there was much choice in the matter.

He'd been stripped of any sort of weapon, he hadn't been carrying one anyway, and was not either Weapon or Meister. The entire thing sounded like a foolish story for children but he kept himself in check. It was unlikely that he could have some special sort of power. And yet, he couldn't stop his mind from wondering what his power might be, if it could stop a Proxy dead in its tracks. Perhaps it would give him the power to find Vincent Law. He really couldn't say just yet nor could he truly put an end to the foolish thoughts floating through his mind.

Raul filed away all information as he was given a mirror that was meant to be some kind of communicator. Smiling at the fact, he let himself be guided out as he noted that his place would provide him with a place to stay. Somehow he doubted that it would suit his tastes but he could always find something better soon. After all, it really couldn't be that difficult to manage something like that. Of course time would tell on that.

Time would also find him a way back out because he didn't have time for this. He had to get back to his duties, to finding that one man who had gotten away from him. He knew that he had the answers to all his questions if he could just find him.

It was find though, he would get his hands on him. For now, he just smiled pleasantly and stepped out to see where he would go next, thoughts of that mind still dancing away in the back of his mind, a fact that was no longer avoidable for him.

Notes
Raul is a very calm individual but he is obsessed with Vincent. The day his world changed is the day he saw Vincent in the mall. Since then, he's been awakened to the flaws in the government and is aware that the system is wrong. Really there's not much else to note aside from him being Pino's papa.
